What we're up to

Individual Substance Abuse and  Recovery Assistance

Currently our ministry is working with individuals seeking to experience a complete transformation. Whether it is placement in substance abuse treatment programs or residential treatment programs, we are dedicated to assisting those serious about experiencing lifelong change. Your support enables our ministry to help others experience the transformation that only comes through Jesus Christ.

Conviction Ministries provides comprehensive Intervention services for those suffering from addiction issues. Each case is different and we approach treatment differently for each case. We ask that if you are in need of our intervention services that you first call or email us so that we can schedule a time for an initial interview. After an initial interview we will make an assessment and create an action plan. After an action plan is created we will work with the family, friend, or individual to organize an appropriate intervention.

* Conviction Ministries does not have drug rehabilitation housing or detox facilities. We utilize resources and services outside of our organization, but we work closely with both the organizations, ministries, and medical organizations in order to insure the best possible outcome for the individual we are working with. We do not promote the methods of many drug rehabilitation organizations as their methodologies are largely  focused on dealing with the symptoms and not the underlying cause of addiction. Contact us for regarding more information about the services we provide.

Prison Ministry Project

Ministering in prison is a very versatile undertaking. No two prisons are the same. Each prison is a unique environment and presents it's own challenges. That is further complicated by the fact that each state has a different approach on how to operate a correctional system.   The varying perspectives towards dealing with criminality result in different laws, policy directives and methods of operation. As a ministry we have to stay up to date on how each prison operates. Our administrative staff has nearly 11 years of experience in dealing with correctional departments and that experience has given us the ability to access individuals and groups within prisons in a way that other ministries have not been able to.

Challenges aside, there are thousands of individuals within these prisons who have genuinely given their hearts to Jesus Christ. During the 7 years that our founder Greg Emelander was in prison he personally experienced the effects of not having access to solid Christian literature, guidance, and encouragement. Year after year Greg tried to meet the needs of those around him using the materials that his parents would send him. Greg realized that there was a need of monumental purportions inside the correctional systems within the United States. The Christian Church had largely turned its back on prisoners because of the trauma that many of these individuals had put innocent people through. While we do not minimize the level of trauma incurred by those individuals, Conviction Ministries recognizes our duty to help those who have expressed a genuine interest in Christ. Since his release, Greg has not only founded Conviction Ministries, he has raised tens of thousands of dollars to purchase and distribute Bibles to prisoners, parolees, and anyone else who genuinely cannot afford to purchase those materials that we take for granted. Conviction Ministries actively distributes hundreds of high quality study Bibles, Bible studies, and Christian literature to prisoners and chaplaincy departments every year. We also operate a correspondence Bible school. Prisoners are able to complete individual Bible studies and upon completion of the course they receive an ornate certificate of completion.

Our prison ministry has received glowing reviews from both prisoners and chaplaincy departments. It is our goal to provide chaplains and prisoners with the resources necessary to make the most out of the work that Christ has begun within their hearts.

 Post-Release Ministry

Years of incarceration can result in an individual experiencing both physical, psychological, and spiritual trauma. Many people, upon release, find themselves with no home, no job, and many times, no support system. Many prisoner's families have abandoned them, and in many cases it is understandable. The actions that precipitated the imprisonment of the individual were anything but saintly. However, upon truly receiving Christ, an individual becomes an entirely new person. Sure, many changes don't occur over night, but after years of growing in Christ, a person's new life can become abundantly evident. Paul puts it like this, " From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh.

" Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us." 2 Cor. 5:17-20 ESV

In order to provide the ministry of reconciliation we provide one on one Bible instruction, biblical occupational counseling, biblical addiction counseling, and Parolee Network Development. Every participant is given personal attention so that they are equipped to live as a new creature in Christ in an environment that is hostile towards anyone with a past like theirs.

" your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect..." 1 Pe 3:15

Community-based Outreach Ministry (project INSPIRE)
Project Inspire  is a grass roots organic community outreach initiative that utilizes the small group approach to help connect with  individuals who are searching to experience genuine personal growth. The participants meet together and form "Grow Groups". Each group is comprised of 9 or less men or women. These individuals come from all walks of life, age, religion, and political background. Each group abides by a list of guidelines. These guidelines are what help us establish an environment conducive to open and honest dialogue. It is through this dialogue that we believe true help can be uncovered. By creating an safe environment for participants to talk about the trauma in their life, we as Christians can provide a loving outline of how Christ has helped us overcome satan's grip within areas of our lives. The group itself maintains an anonymous autonomy in that the "grow group" ascribes to no "personal belief" Each participant therefore can come and speak from a personal perspective without the fear of being ostracized by the organization holding the meeting. We believe there is strength, wisdom, and knowledge to be found within the stories and testimonies of others. We hope to create a place where that strength can be found and shared with those who are in need of such empowerment.

Ministerial Services (Individual, Corporate, & Community)
- Bible Studies (online, mail, and personal instruction)
We provide Bible instructors for anyone interested in studying the Bible. There are requirements though. A person must be willing to approach any subject objectively. We believe that truth can only be accepted honestly when a person has evaluated it apart from any preconceived ideas or notions. If a person is able to approach Bible study from that stand point, we are willing to connect you with a qualified Bible instructor. This instructor will provide necessary instruction, materials, and time free of charge.

- Personal Ministry Training:
Conviction Ministries provides training for those seeking instruction on innovative evangelistic techniques. Over the last few years Greg Emelander has had the opportunity to show others how to connect with strangers in a very impactful way. Greg's methods are fashioned directly after the methods of Jesus. By examining the methods of Christ Greg has been able to develop modern methods to utilize Jesus's tactics in our cultures difficult mission fields.

In October and November of 2015 Conviction ministries traveled to both Germany and Kenya in order to help Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism train nearly two dozen students in how to evangelize successfully. For nearly a month Greg communicated the unique and necessary methods for reaching those lost in sin. God willing, and donations permitting, that very same training will be available for you. Conviction Ministries Comprehensive Training Course and Curriculum will be available for anyone desiring to learn Christ's method for seeking and saving the lost.

- Bible Study Curriculum
As part of that comprehensive course A Bible study curriculum is currently being developed that will give any Bible student the tools necessary, not only for strengthening their faith , but to defend it. Studies on Apologetics, In-depth Study of NT Greek an OT Aramaic & Hebrew, Old Testament Torah, and many other tools will be available. These studies will dig deeper than any study series available. They were the product of Greg's frustrations. After unsuccessfully searching for a curriculum that went past the basic information Greg decided to do his best to make sure nobody else had to face that same situation. This series will focus on topics rarely even spoken of, let alone studied. Upon completion students will have a relevant, applicable, and inspirational curriculum designed to strengthen their relationship with Christ. Contact us for more information.

Intercessory Prayer Project

Sometimes our methods of reaching others an become overly complicated. Throughout our years or reaching others we have come to realize that sometimes the most effective method of reaching the heart is the simplest. We have implemented an Intercessory prayer team as part of our community outreach initiative. We have a retired pastor directing our intercessory prayer team. He traverses local communities with no goal other than praying for those who are in need of prayer (which is everybody). I have personally witnessed the unbelievable power of prayer to access portions of the heart that are otherwise off limits. This intercessory prayer team will only grow in its effectiveness as our number of volunteers increases.

Opportunities to get involved.

If you would like to get personally involved with any of our projects, please contact us and we will tell you how you can begin working with Conviction Ministries as a volunteer.

The love of Christ, manifested in unselfish ministry, will be more effective in reforming the evildoer than will the sword or the court of justice. These are necessary to strike terror to the lawbreaker, but the loving missionary can do more than this. Often the heart will harden under reproof; but it will melt under the love of Christ.
